He also holds a Bachelors Degree in Sports Science from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. Manoj has been leading the Physical Therapy division at New York Spine and Sports Rehabilitation Medicine practice since its foundation in February 2002.

He became interested in a career in Physical Therapy after sustaining an injury of his own and having to undergo physical therapy treatments. Amazed by the nature of care and the kind of attention the physical therapist gave him, he was immediately attracted to the profession and pursued it as his future goal. The first position Manoj held was at Sports Physical Therapy of New York, managed by HealthSouth, where he treated various sports injuries, orthopedic conditions and post surgical patients. He also used his skills in Home Care through Visiting Nurse Services of New York, focusing on improving patient’s function and safety in their homes. Manoj keeps current with new and exciting treatment interventions and research data by attending various related to practice continuing medical education courses.

As a physical therapist, Manoj brings his expertise and background in Manual Therapy in treating his patients. He believes in individualizing a treatment plan for each patient that comes to see him. His philosophy is that the patient, physical therapist and referring doctor work as a team to achieve the maximum functional outcome for the patient. At present several private insurances are cutting down on physical therapy reimbursement and the amount of physical therapy visits. Manoj understands this and his treatment plan is geared toward achieving maximum improvement by focusing on the primary functional impairments that are limiting the patient. His focus on patient education on anatomy, cause of injury, body mechanics/posture and a thorough home exercise program to prevent re-injury has been the key to his success in healing.

Outside of work, his hobbies include tennis, jogging and fitness training.
